Pregnancy follow-up

In Belgium, a pregnancy is monitored by a general practitioner, gynaecologist or midwife. Contact one of these health providers if you want to become pregnant or as soon as you know that you are pregnant. They will inform you of all further steps during the first appointment.

Prenatal support point

People without medical insurance or in a vulnerable position (see below) can get appropriate help from a prenatal support point.

What do we mean by vulnerable? People without legal ID papers, with financial problems, relationship problems, an addiction, ...

The support points have doctors, nurses and social workers to guide you. Ask your GP or Violett for more information. The website Prenatale steunpunten in Vlaanderen gives details in different languages.
