Men, women or transgenders walk the streets and look for clients. Sometimes, customer pick up a sex worker by car and the sex act may be performed in the customer's car, a nearby hotel or park. Although street prostitution is prohibited in Belgium and there are no authorised soliciting areas, the practice exists in the main Belgian cities. 

The major Belgian cities such as Antwerp, Ghent and Ostend have areas with window prostitution. The sex workers rent a window and a room where they receive their customers. Every municipality has its own local prostitution regulations which you can consult under ‘legislation in my city or municipality'. Women and transgenders/transvestites work in window prostitution.

Erotic bars or clubs can be found all over Belgium, not only in the main cities but also the main n the larger cities but also along the main provincial roads (steenwegen). The customer can just have a drink in the company of a lady and/or go to one of the rooms for sex.

You can find private houses or apartments in towns and villages, even small ones, where women offer their services. They advertise in local newspapers or on erotic websites. These premises are often run by a pimp or madam who no longer does any sex work.

Men, women or transgenders who work as escorts meet at a client’s home or in a hotel. The escort or his/her agency advertises in a newspaper or on the internet. The customer contacts the escort directly or through the agency.

An erotic massage parlour will not always explicitly advertise its erotic service offer but often this can be derived from the website or the parlour’s interior. Some Thai or Chinese massage parlours also offer erotic services such as a tantra or happy ending massages and even intimate sexual contacts.
