Safe BDSM : piercing

When you engage in BDSM activities, you must have detailed knowledge of the different techniques. BDSM carries very high safety risks if you have no knowledge of and experience with these practices. The following rules apply to all BDSM acts:

  • Only use attributes that you can clean. Check this when buying sex toys.
  • In the event of injuries, avoid direct contact with blood, wound and bodily fluids.

Piercing

What is piercing?

Making a small hole in the skin to insert a piece of jewellery. This can be part of a sex game.

Risks of piercing?

Never have a piercing (even a temporary one) during a sex game as it cannot be carried out correctly and in a sterile manner and can lead to infection and inflammation.

Use a sterile needle if you decide to pierce during sex. If you don't have sterile tools, disinfect the piercing before use and disinfect the body part where it is going to be applied. If necessary, go to a piercing shop and ask how to care for a piercing afterwards to prevent it becoming infected or inflamed.
