SCAM REDLIGHTS 

Several of you probably received the following message through the site Redlights yesterday or today:

"Dear sex workers of Redlights,
We are writing to inform you of an important change that will soon take place in the Dutch and Belgian sex work industry. As of May 1, 2024, in both the Netherlands and Belgium, the Special Services License (SDV) will be made mandatory for all sex workers, including those who advertise on platforms such as Redlights.be."

To be clear, this is a scam. The post was taken offline today by Redlights and the scammer was reported to the police. Unfortunately, several sex workers have already paid €59 for a non-existent SDV license to the scammer. The website referred to was a replica of the Dutch government's website. There is no such thing as a Ministry for Sexual Services, not in Belgium nor in the Netherlands.

What makes this matter even worse: the upcoming legislative changes that Utsopi has been fighting for for years are being misused to scam sex workers. Legal changes are indeed imminent, but will never be such thing as a license for sex workers to have the right to perform sex work in Belgium. We will soon inform you in detail about the legal changes. Utsopi is considering legal action against the scammer.
