Are you worried about HIV?

You can go to the emergency department of several hospitals to receive PEP (Post-Exposure Prophylaxis). If you have had unprotected sex with a high risk of HIV exposure, PEP can significantly reduce the risk of HIV infection, provided that you start the treatment within 72 hours after the exposure.

You can contact one of the following HIV Reference Centres.

Are you worried about an unplanned pregnancy?

You can obtain the morning-after pill from any pharmacy. It helps prevent pregnancy if taken within 3 to 5 days after unprotected sex. The morning-after pill is available without a prescription.

During weekends and evenings, you can visit a duty pharmacy in your area. Search for a pharmacy near you or call 0903 99 000.

Do you have other medical complaints that cannot wait?

You can contact an out-of-hours GP service for medical problems that require urgent treatment.

Call 1733 (from Belgian phone numbers) or +32 2 524 98 89 (from foreign phone numbers).

For life-threatening or very urgent medical emergencies, go to the emergency department of the nearest hospital.
