Administration
“You have to do quite a number of things online and they always ask for your username and password. My daughter helps me sometimes, but she doesn't explain anything. If she is not there, I don't know what to do. I feel so stupid.”
Help with paperwork
Who hasn’t come across a full letterbox? Leaflets, letters from the school, the mutuality or the government? Not to mention everything that comes into your computer mailbox! A lot of documents are drawn up in an incomprehensible language. How are you going to handle all this?
Making these letters disappear unopened into a great heap or ignoring e-mail messages is not such a good idea.
Some messages really require a timely response. Postponing administrative follow-up could get you in a lot of trouble. For example, the consequence of failing to pay your bills is a build-up of debts. You absolutely must try and avoid this! Try to fix a moment each week to go through and deal with your paperwork.
“All those letters in my mailbox! I don't know what's important and what's not. When I see a bank transfer form, I pay immediately because I'm afraid I'm going get into debt if I don’t. But the other day I made a mistake and transferred money to an organisation I didn't want to support. I speak Dutch but sometimes it's so hard to understand all this information.”
